John Musker

4 titles · american animation

With Ron Clements, Musker directed The Little Mermaid and Aladdin, the films that brought Broadway-style songs back to Disney animation. Both are about a young person who wants a life their world forbids: a mermaid fascinated by land, a street urchin in love with a princess. The pair went back to hand-drawn animation for The Princess and the Frog, with a waitress, a prince and a voodoo magician, and to the Pacific for Moana.
