Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon
dir. Scott Glosserman · 2006
The pursuit of one's passion can lead to a dark and twisted understanding of identity and existence.
"Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon" cleverly dissects the slasher genre through the eyes of an aspiring killer, blending dark humor with a chilling examination of horror tropes. This film invites viewers to laugh while simultaneously questioning the very nature of fear and villainy.
The next great psycho horror slasher has given a documentary crew exclusive access to his life as he plans his reign of terror over the sleepy town of Glen Echo, all the while deconstructing the conventions and archetypes of the horror genre for them.
