Kinds of Kindness
dir. Yorgos Lanthimos · 2024
Life is a complex journey of seeking control and understanding in a world where identity and purpose can shift unexpectedly.
A man grapples with the suffocating weight of choices he never made, while a policeman confronts the unsettling return of his wife, who seems irrevocably altered. As a woman embarks on a quest for a destined spiritual leader, the film unfolds like a dark fable, revealing the absurdity and horror of existence. Watching it feels like traversing a labyrinth of fractured identities and moral dilemmas, where every choice leads to unexpected consequences.
A triptych fable following a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life; a policeman who is alarmed that his wife who was missing-at-sea has returned and seems a different person; and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability, who is destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.
