Maniac
dir. Franck Khalfoun · 2012
Frank, the withdrawn owner of a mannequin store, finds his life spiraling into darkness when he becomes infatuated with Anna, a young artist. As their relationship unfolds, the film plunges into Frank's disturbed psyche, revealing a chilling obsession that blurs the lines between love and violence. Watching it is an unsettling experience, as the viewer is drawn into a world where intimacy becomes a weapon and the city itself feels like a suffocating prison.
Just when the streets seemed safe, a serial killer with a fetish for scalps is back and on the hunt. Frank is the withdrawn owner of a mannequin store, but his life changes when young artist Anna appears asking for his help with her new exhibition. As their friendship develops and Frank's obsession escalates, it becomes clear that she has unleashed a long-repressed compulsion to stalk and kill.
