Red Rocket
dir. Sean Baker · 2021
Life is a constant struggle between seeking personal fulfillment and facing the consequences of past choices.
"Red Rocket" is a strikingly vibrant exploration of a fallen star's return to a life he left behind, mixing humor and pathos as it navigates love, ambition, and the search for redemption in a small Texas town.
After hitting rock bottom in Los Angeles, former porn star Mikey Saber returns to his hometown in Texas to stay with his estranged wife and mother-in-law. Just as tensions begin to ease, he becomes infatuated with a young doughnut shop worker named Strawberry.
