The Human Voice
dir. Pedro Almodóvar · 2020
Being alive often involves grappling with loss and the passage of time while seeking connection in moments of solitude.
"The Human Voice" is a poignant exploration of abandonment and longing, where vibrant colors clash with the stark solitude of a woman's emotional landscape. Almodóvar masterfully intertwines the mundane with the profound, inviting viewers to reflect on the echoes of love lost and the silent companionship of a loyal dog.
A woman watches time pass beside the suitcases of her ex-lover (who is supposed to come pick them up but never arrives) and a restless dog who doesn't understand that his master has abandoned him.
