The Shrouds

dir. David Cronenberg · 2025

The struggle to cope with loss can lead to dangerous obsessions that blur the line between life and death.

Karsh Relikh, a grieving husband, has developed a technology that allows the living to observe their deceased loved ones, a decision that blurs the lines between love and obsession. As he grapples with the desecration of his wife's grave, the film immerses viewers in a chilling exploration of grief, innovation, and the moral complexities of wanting to hold onto the past.

Inconsolable since the death of his wife, prominent businessman Karsh Relikh invents a revolutionary and controversial technology that enables the living to monitor their dear departed in their shrouds. One night, multiple graves, including that of Karsh’s wife, are desecrated, and he sets out to track down the perpetrators.
