Women Talking

dir. Sarah Polley · 2022

The struggle for autonomy and the search for truth are essential to the human experience, especially in the face of oppression.

A group of women in a secluded religious community confront the aftermath of a series of brutal assaults that have shattered their lives. As they gather to discuss whether to stay, fight, or leave, their conversations reveal deep-seated fears, hopes, and the struggle for agency. Watching this film is like stepping into a quiet storm, where every word carries weight and the tension of unspoken truths hangs palpably in the air.

Do nothing, stay and fight, or leave. In 2010, the women of an isolated religious community grapple with reconciling a brutal reality with their faith.
