Films about people who are legally adults and are handling it badly. Some of them never actually left the house. The rest left, but kept living like they hadn't.

The ones who never left are the easy cases. Brennan and Dale are both about forty when their parents get married in Step Brothers, and they move into the same room like it's a sleepover. Tripp is thirty-five in Failure to Launch, with a good job and a great house, and still lives with his parents, so they hire a professional to date him out of it. Anna is closing in on thirty in Adult Life Skills, living in her mum's garden shed, and it takes her mum's ultimatum, timed to her birthday, to get her to leave it.

The ones who did leave just took the habits with them. Aura moves back in with her mother anyway after film school in Tiny Furniture, unable to land a job or a boyfriend that sticks. Mavis Gary still believes high school was the best years of her life in Young Adult, and drives home to prove it by chasing her married ex. Josh is forty-four and still hasn't finished the documentary he's been making for eight years in While We're Young, until a cooler, younger couple makes him feel like he's finally arrived somewhere.

Nobody revokes the license. These people just never picked it up.
