fleeting connections

A train carriage in Vienna, a last afternoon before the boat sails, a childhood friend who reappears decades later on a different continent. These are films about connections that are real precisely because they end — the charge comes from knowing the clock is running.

The connection can be romantic, platonic, or something in between. What matters is the shape: two people meet, something genuine passes between them, and then the world pulls them apart. The film doesn't fix it. Sometimes they meet again; usually the point is what the meeting left behind.
