George Miller

In 1979 a Sydney doctor named George Miller made Mad Max, about a highway patrolman on the lawless back roads of a near-future Australia. Thirty-six years later Mad Max: Fury Road returned to the desert for a two-hour chase. In between he made family films with the same drive, including Happy Feet, about a penguin with a terrible singing voice and an unlikely gift for tap dancing.
