Jean-Pierre Dardenne

The Dardenne brothers film the poor and the young in the Belgian city of Seraing and around it, with a handheld camera right behind their heads. In The Kid with a Bike, eleven-year-old Cyril, abandoned by his father, is living in a foster home. Tori and Lokita follows two young migrants from Africa trying to survive in Belgium. Young Mothers is set in a shelter for teenage mothers.
