Grief can be a profound journey that leads to unexpected connections and self-discovery.
"Drive My Car" invites you on an emotional journey through grief and connection, masterfully blending the art of theater with poignant introspection. The film’s contemplative pace and rich dialogue create an immersive exploration of the human condition that resonates deeply with those seeking meaning in their own lives.
Yusuke Kafuku, a stage actor and director, still unable, after two years, to cope with the loss of his beloved wife, accepts to direct Uncle Vanya at a theater festival in Hiroshima. There he meets Misaki, an introverted young woman, appointed to drive his car. In between rides, secrets from the past and heartfelt confessions will be unveiled.
