Ex Libris: The New York Public Library
dir. Frederick Wiseman · 2017
Being alive involves navigating the balance between preserving our cultural heritage and adapting to the changing world around us.
A librarian discusses the importance of community programs while patrons browse the stacks, each lost in their own world of knowledge. Watching this film feels like wandering through a vast library, where every corner reveals a new story, and the quiet hum of activity invites reflection on the evolving role of public institutions in a digital age.
A documentary about how a dominant cultural and demographic institution both sustains their traditional activities and adapts to the digital revolution.
