The House of the Devil
dir. Ti West · 2009
The struggle for survival often reveals the darkest aspects of human nature and the lengths one will go to when faced with fear.
"The House of the Devil" masterfully weaves a tapestry of tension and dread, drawing viewers into a retro nightmare where a simple babysitting job spirals into a harrowing fight for survival. With its slow-burn pacing and nostalgic aesthetic, this film is a chilling homage to the horror classics of the 1980s.
In 1983, financially struggling college student Samantha Hughes takes a strange babysitting job that coincides with a full lunar eclipse. She slowly realizes her clients harbor a terrifying secret, putting her life in mortal danger.
